Productivity

Stupid Jen put up a "to-do" list on her blog and meade me feel all lazy. So in the past 2 days I've dug up and re-planted the flowerbed out front and painted and redecorated the hall bathroom. Today I broke down and called in a handy man to do the second flowerbed and hang some shelves in the master bath closet. I have not taken my naptime break in 2 days. The house is looking great but I'm exhausted.

THANKS A LOT JEN!

Camping out...living room style

Lou has been telling me for ages that he's going to camp out in the living room with Squish. He's never actually done it, though. On Saturday I was blowing up this really great kid sized air mattress to make sure that it really is really great (totally!) It was just the inspiration Lou needed. I went to dinner with a couple of my heroes Saturday night so Lou did things as we normally do but Sunday night it was boys in the wild, wild living room. We set up this MASSIVE tent. It took up the entire living room and spilled over into the dining room. We blew up Squishs air mattress and a queen sized one for Lou, threw in a million stuffed animals, water and snacks. Squish was beside himself. He didn't go to sleep until 10:30. They watched movies and played until they fell asleep. It was cute to sneak through and check on them (girls were not allowed at the camp out) They watched Peter Pan, which Lou had never seen and I heard him laughing out lout at several points. Bear had a rougher night than usual, which I had to deal with by myself, but it was a price worth paying for all the fun my two biggest boys had.

Friday Nite Leftovers

-I think Squish has finally tired of the Jesse pants. He hasn't said anything about them in a couple of days. It will be interesting to see when he remembers their existence.

-Bear keeps biting me. All. The. Time. I love him and I want to hold him and hug him but every time I do he takes a chuck out of my shoulder. If I'm sitting on the couch he'll come bite my leg. It's getting to the point where I am afraid of my one year old. Any suggestions on stopping this madness??

-We still have not heard anything about the possible offer on our house. Supposed to hear something today.

-We still have not heard anything about the offer we put on the new house.

-We still have not heard anything about Levi's job interview.

-My patience is wearing a see-thru kind of thin. I consistently have butterflies in my stomach and not much of an appetite. Maybe I'll lose some weight as a little silver lining to all of this.

-We went to Burger King with Wibef and Jen yesterday and Jen reached over and took one of my fries without asking. Then she said "we are totally at that point in our relationship" and she's right we are. I'm so glad to have found someone who I get along with so well who has a child Squish's age and they get along so well (most of the time. They are toddlers, after all) After 3 years (wow!) at this stay at home mom thing, I'm starting to really realize how rare it is to find both of those situations in one Mom/Baby combo.

-Well, if we don't hear anything on any of our 3 up in the air situations....it's going to be a long weekend for me waiting until Monday.

-And if I don't start hearing back from my realtor sooner than 2 hours after I leave him a message, the search will be on for his replacement.

Jesse Pants

So Squish is OBSESSED with Jesse from Toy Story. He has these great Woody and Buzz costumes that Gaggi and Pop got for him but he always tries to made Woody's cow print vest stick to his pants so that he can be Jesse. So I finally broke down and made him some Jesse pants.

He hasn't taken them off in 6 days

I won't let him sleep in them, which was a battle that was only won once I cut some of the cow print fabric for him to take to bed. (under his knee)

Cute Baby Saturday (The Mowhawk Edition)

Don't be fooled by the hair

This baby is not as tough as he looks

Even though he grabs himself aggressively

He's really just an angel who adores his big brother

Proud Mama

Squish has done a few noteworthy things lately. I'm super proud of some of them. Some....well not so much. See if you can guess which is which

- As I was dropping him off at school (where they are building a big new sanctuary and have lots of construction equipment) he pointed out the window and said "look Mommy, a cement mixer" He used to refer to everything as a "digger" so this is progress

- Before we left for school I told him he needed to potty. He went into the bathroom, shut the door (which I cracked and peeked through) pulled his pants down, peed, missed, adjusted, pulled up his pants, flushed and came out. ALL BY HIMSELF! There are grown men who can't accomplish this task

-He has learned to work the light switches but knows he's only allowed to turn the lights on and off in his room. He asked permission before touching any or "my switches"

-As I was getting him ready for bed the other night he insisted that he be the one to zip his jammies, and he did it all by himself

-Then, after he zipped up, he got a huge grin on his face, walked over to where I was sitting in the floor, turned around and let one go right in my face.  He said "I tooted at your face Mommy" and laughed like there has never been anything funnier in life.

Like I said, some of these things make me proud. Some....not so much

waiting....

....for the realtor to call and tell me if we are going to have an offer on our house. He obviously does not know what waiting does to me. I'm about to puke
